architect of foundsoundscapes, his improvised concerts are an evocatively woven soundscape combining abstract electro-acoustic source material with long forgotten vinyl alterations; an evolving dense stream of macrosonic [close focus] sound textures, pulses and frequencies which conjure up images of an architectonic landscape, traversing though Ballard's 'Drowned World

Emi Maeda is a Tokyo born harpist living in Helsinki; she plays harpy hard core digital maximum music for world peace, crossover between western academic world to all over the underground; she operates electronics and computer within japanese noise music aesthetics and finnish architectural invisible sound approach

 
Wednesday 15   Benny Nilsen and Lary Seven

The Lary 7 performance will be a totally live improvised non haptic event incorporating the existing setup of surround sound speakers in addition to rotating "leslie" type speakers fed by a special joystick matrix; the sound sources will be minimal such as a light sensor & contact mic; it will attempt to explore the hypnotic effects of sound in motion through phase/ doppler occurrences B.J. Nilsen lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden; he is focused on the sound of nature and its effect on humans, field recordings and the perception of time and space as experienced through sound, sometimes electronically treated; he will present an specially made scandinavian excursion in sound

 
Thursday 16   Guy van Belle and Haeyoung Kim

'HUMA HUMA' - [mxHz.org]'s xgz (brussels/amsterdam) and [bubblyfish.com] (new york)will perform a set based on sound and structure found in music by: django reinhardt, moba, nicolette, sonic youth, tony conrad; but most of all they are watching/listening to the french movie 'hiroshima mon amour' (alain resnais, 1959); they propagate a human-political attitude towards creativity; not about any definite political view or idealogy, but about people and emotion; any result will be protected by the creative commons licence [www.creativecommons.org]

 
Friday 17   Melvyn Poore

Tubist, composer, sound designer, presents some of his own music, improvised and composed, with and without extended tuba and/or live electronic transformations; among other things, he'll play some old favorites never presented in New York: ONE, TWO, THREE and TUBASSOON; and new material too: GERADE AUS (Straight ahead) for voice and live electronics

Jon Abbey (Erstwhile Records) and Tim Barnes (Quakebasket) program a very special day/night of electroacoustic music created from 2001-2004; at times, multiple selections will be playing simultaneously, and Barnes may occasionally join in with live accompaniment

Six hours of music and film/video, for his 71st winter solstice, with some guest performers; several new works will be played; the days will get longer from now on, or at least until June 21; this concert begins at 6pm, and lasts until 12am

Experimental Intermedia, based in New York City, was founded in 1968 by Elaine Summers to provide organizational support for artists working in intermedia forms. Throughout its history EI has produced more than 1000 events in its New York lofts. EI has also produced many intermedia events in other cities in the U.S. and other countries. EI now produces 20 events each season; manages its compact disc label, XI; develops and implements international projects in collaboration with like-minded organizations in Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Portugal and elsewhere.
